All We Can Do (Black Saturday)

Silence. Fear. Confusion.

Jesus promised so much. Now he’s dead and sealed inside a cold, dark tomb. The soldiers guard its entrance so we can’t come near. Will they come for us and kill us too?

As we huddle here in this room, we consider the last three years of our lives. We left everything to follow this man, but now he’s no longer here to follow. What do we do? Where do we go?

He had the words of eternal life. We believed him. We know he was the Holy One of God. Hold on, what was it that he said he would do?

He said he would rise again.

So we will wait. It’s all we can do.

Black Saturday Reading:

  • Matthew 27:62-66

  • Mark 16:1

  • Luke 23:56
